The 26th European Young Geotechnical Engineers Conference (26EYGEC) was held in Graz, Austria, , September 11-14, 2018, organized by Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) with the support of the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE), the Austrian Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ASSMGE) and the Austrian Association of Engineers and Architects (OIAV).
The program was attended by more than 50 representatives from 27 European countries, including a Special Session chaired by Keller Grundbau GmbH and 4 Plenary Sessions by J. Logar, C. Kummerer, D. Adam and H.F. Schweiger. The event also had a technical visit to a hydroelectric power plant on the Mur River in Graz.
The topics covered were broad, with presentations related to laboratory study of new materials and techniques, the demonstration in real cases of new technologies and construction methodologies. The result was a significantly complete conference, in the technical-scientific field, especially the state of the art in relation to the topics currently dealt with in the research and practice of Geotechnics, and which also provided the young researchers with a unique opportunity for networking and networking with geotechnical engineers. throughout Europe.
