The Portuguese Geotechnical Society (SPG) has been representing the International Tunelling and Underground Space Association (ITA) in Portugal since the end of the 1980s. In 2006 the Portuguese Tunnel and Underground Works Commission (CPT) was created. This group belonging to the SPG, made up of the Portuguese members of ITA.
The Portuguese Society of Geotechnics (SPG) represent the International Society for Rock Mechanics (ISRM) in Portugal since 1966.
The Portuguese Geotechnical Society (SPG) has been representing the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) since the early 1950s.
The Portuguese Geotechnical Society (SPG) represent the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) in Portugal since 2001, and in 2006 the Portuguese Geosynthetics Commission (IGS-Portugal) was constituted by the Portuguese members of IGS.
The Portuguese Geotechnical Society (SPG) represent the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG).
