Under the auspices of the Portuguese Environmental Geotechnical Commission of the Portuguese Geotechnical Society and ISSMGE TC307 – Sustainability in Geotechnical Engineering, the National Civil Engineering Laboratory (LNEC) is organizing the 1st International Conference on Sustainability in Geotechnical Engineering – Geodiversity & Resilience ( 1st ICSGE’21), which will take place at the LNEC Congress Center (Lisbon, Portugal), from 27 to 30 June 2021 (Website: http://icsge.lnec.pt). http://icsge.lnec.pt).
At present the following 7 Keynote Lectures are confirmed:
- Dipanjan Basu (Canadá): “Sustainability and Resilience: An Integrated Approach”
- Ricardo Trigo (Portugal): “Climate change scenarios in Europe: increasing impacts of extreme events”
- Anand Puppala (EUA): “A Multi-criterial quantitative framework to assess sustainability and resiliency of ground improvement studies for civil infrastructure”
- Krishna R. Reddy (EUA): “Innovative, environmentally friendly and energy efficient geotechnical techniques”
- Arul Arulrajah (Austrália): “Sustainable usage of recycled materials in transportation geotechnics”
- Antonio Gens (Espanha): “Deep underground repositories for high level nuclear waste”
- José Brilha (Portugal): “Geoethical principles applied to geoheritage conservation”
Of the four short courses planned (please consult the website), the course “Sustainable Engineering: Drivers, Metrics, Tools, and Applications”, which will be coordinated by Prof. Krishna R. Reddy (University of Illinois at Chicago, USA).
The SPG Board calls for the participation of all members and the submission of Abstracts.
