On December 3, 2021, a virtual marathon will take place, organized by ITAym and with the participation of CPTym (young CPT members), to celebrate Santa Barbara’s day. At 5:30 pm (GMT), a lecture entitled “Beaulieu Station – Algiers Metro” will be presented by Eng. Rafael Espírito Santo (CPTym & TPF), describing the design of this station, integrated in Extension E of the Algiers Metro. This project, due to the architectural, geological, urbanistic and schedule constraints, constitutes a very interesting case study regarding deep excavations and urban tunnels.

The CPTym invites all those involved in the design, construction and operation of tunnels and underground works, aged 35 years or less, including students, to enroll in CPTym, simply by sending an email to spg@lnec.pt with name, contact and occupation (student / professional affiliation).
