Registration for the presentation session of the “Guide of Best Practices for the Contracting of Complex Geotechnical Works” is open. The session will take place on the 18th of July, at 4:15 pm, at the Order of Engineers, in Lisbon.
This guide results from the joint work that has been carried out by CPT (Portuguese Commission of Tunnels and Underground Space), OE (Order of Engineers) and APPC (Portuguese Association of Designers and Consultants).
The Guide deals with the best construction practices of Complex Geotechnical Works that promote the adaptation of the initially planned construction methods to the real working conditions, through a quick response to changes in the ground conditions, valuing the importance of contractual flexibility to achieve the goals which conduct the conclusion of a public contract.
The dissemination and debate phase of the Guide is taking place, aiming the discussion of the stakeholders in Complex Geotechnical Works. The experiences acquired by various stakeholders, especially supervisory and regulatory entities, main owners of public works and contractors and design companies, will contribute to the final version of the document.
